Hello! I joined the Shanti team as a Behavioral Health Therapist in July 2015. I’m a graduate of Northern Arizona University’s MA in Counseling program and have previous experience working in inpatient and home-based settings.
It’s with heartfelt joy and gratitude that I call Shanti home and share in the person-centered, collaborative treatment environment that our team fosters.
Lindsay Van Gorder (MSC, LPC)
Hello! My name is Lindsay Van Gorder and I joined the Phoenix Shanti Group as of December 2013 as a Behavioral Health Technician. I recently graduated from the University of Phoenix with my Master of Science in Counseling/Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor. I interned with the PSG and enjoyed the experience so much I wanted to come back to assist individuals living with HIV/AIDs and chemical dependency. I have a passion for the recovery process and assisting clients with behavioral health issues.

Michael Stantz here, Phoenix Shanti's Transitional Housing Coordinator. I have been a part of the Shanti team for 7 years and look forward to several more. I work closely with our individuals to navigate housing needs, HIV services, along with HIV education. My personal goal is to help individuals address any barriers which lead to homelessness. Because having a home is important to creating safety and in turn manifests a sense of personal empowerment!
I am Shanti Brother Alumni night as well Lead Truck Drive at Shanti Second Chance Store. I thought the best way to give back, and to inspire others in the program is to be part of their team. The Phoenix Shanti Group has given me my life back. If it wasn’t for this program I wouldn’t be where I am at today and be the best son that a mother can ever have.
